Remember Jesus Christ

Opening Verse:

“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:”
– 2 Timothy 2:8 (KJV)

Introduction:

In this verse, Paul encourages Timothy to keep his focus on the core of the gospel: Jesus Christ, who is both the promised Messiah and the risen Savior. It’s a call to hold fast to the foundation of our faith, especially in times of hardship or doubt.

Devotional Story:

A pastor named Thomas faced increasing opposition in his ministry. Members of his congregation began to question his teachings, and others left entirely. One evening, overwhelmed and disheartened, Thomas turned to Scripture and read 2 Timothy 2:8. The words struck a chord in his weary heart.

“Remember Jesus Christ,” he repeated aloud. He realized that amidst the challenges, his role was not to please people but to proclaim the truth of the gospel. We’re Not Victims, We’re Victors

Opening Verse

 

 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” — Romans 8:37 (KJV)

 

Introduction

 

As followers of Christ, we often face challenges, struggles, and trials that seem overwhelming. It’s easy to feel defeated by life, but the truth is that in Christ, we are not victims of our circumstances—we are victors.

 

Devotional Story

 

There was once a man who found himself trapped in a cycle of failure. Everything he tried seemed to fall apart. His business ventures failed, relationships crumbled, and his health declined. He felt like a victim, and each failure only deepened his despair. But one day, he picked up his Bible and read Romans 8:37: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

 

It was a turning point. He realized that, though his circumstances were challenging, his identity in Christ remained victorious. No longer seeing himself as a victim, he began to trust God’s plan, even in the midst of hardship. Slowly, his perspective changed, and with it, his life. Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a victor through Jesus Christ. When I feel overwhelmed and defeated, remind me of the victory You have already secured for me. Help me to walk in faith, trusting that You are working all things for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Roar of the Spirit

Opening Verse

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.” – Proverbs 28:1 (KJV)

 

Introduction

In moments of spiritual intensity, there are instances when the Holy Spirit moves within us so powerfully that our response is like a lion’s roar. This roar symbolizes the authority, power, and boldness we have through Christ. It declares victory, claims ground, and shakes the spiritual realm.

 

Devotional Story

A young missionary named David found himself in a remote village where the gospel had never been preached. The village was steeped in fear, controlled by local shamans who practiced dark rituals. One night, as David prayed, he felt an overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. He began to speak with a boldness he had never known, declaring God’s power over the village.

 

David walked to the center of the village, and with a voice loud and clear, he proclaimed the name of Jesus. The villagers, initially skeptical and afraid, watched in awe as the shamans’ hold over them began to break. The air felt electric as David continued to pray and declare God’s sovereignty. When we roar in the Spirit, it is an act of faith and declaration of God’s authority. This roar is not just noise; it is a prophetic act that changes the atmosphere, breaks chains, and brings about God’s will on earth as it is in heaven.

Consider the areas in your life where God is calling you to be bold as a lion. Where do you need to declare His victory and authority? Remember, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. When you speak with the authority given by the Holy Spirit, mountains move, and lives are transformed.

 

Prayer

Heavenly Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and grant me the boldness to speak and act according to Your will. Let my words be like a lion’s roar, declaring Your victory and breaking the chains of darkness. Use me to transform lives and bring Your kingdom here on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
