Never Lost to Jesus

Have you ever felt lost, like you were wandering without direction? Sometimes in life, we stray from the path and it’s difficult to find our way back. But there’s good news: Jesus is always seeking us out.

A shepherd had a hundred sheep and one of them went astray. He left the ninety-nine and went into the wilderness to find the one that was lost. He searched diligently, not giving up until he found it. When he finally did, he joyfully put it on his shoulders and brought it home. This story reminds us of how Jesus pursues us when we wander off.

A Taste of Faith

Many of us resist trying new experiences, much like young Lucas who always avoided new foods. The thought of exploring the unknown can be daunting, whether it’s a new food or a deeper dive into our faith.

Lucas was a little boy who had a very particular taste in food. His meals always consisted of the same few dishes he knew and loved. One day, his mother introduced him to a new fruit—a mango. Initially, Lucas refused. He did not want to try something unfamiliar. But with a little encouragement, Lucas decided to taste the mango. To his surprise, he loved it! The fruit was sweet, juicy, and unlike anything he had ever eaten.

This experience transformed Lucas’s outlook on food. He became more willing to try new dishes, discovering flavors he never knew he would enjoy.

In a spiritual sense, the Holy Spirit functions similarly, guiding and warning us through our journey of faith.

Imagine you’re in a large building, unfamiliar and complex. Suddenly, a small wisp of smoke curls through the air. It’s hardly noticeable, but it’s there. In this building, there’s a system in place, much like a Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA), that detects even the slightest presence of smoke long before a flame becomes visible.

Now, think of your life as that building. You navigate through its corridors, making choices and facing challenges. The Holy Spirit is like that advanced detection system, sensing the unseen dangers and whispering guidance to you. When you encounter decisions or situations that might lead you astray, the Holy Spirit sends a gentle alert, guiding you back to safety.

Journey to True Growth
