Repositioned to Be Fed

Opening Verse

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
—Psalm 23:2 (KJV)

Introduction

When life leaves you drained, unseen, or burdened by the expectations of others, it’s easy to believe you’re forgotten. But according to Scripture, the Lord is not distant—He’s the Good Shepherd, leading His sheep to rest, not ruin. When you feel overlooked, it may be the very moment God is guiding you into His care.

Devotional Story

A woman faithfully served in her local church for years. She prayed, fasted, and labored behind the scenes. Others depended on her, yet rarely asked how she was. She began to feel worn, like a branch that had given all its fruit but received no rain.

One evening, she opened her Bible and read these words: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Convicted, she went to prayer and asked, “Lord, have I confused serving people with following You?”

That night, in a dream, she stood in a dry land. She was surrounded by people who kept pulling on her, but then she looked and saw a green pasture in the distance. A voice spoke, “Follow Me, and I will feed you.”

When she awoke, she realized it was time to realign her steps with Christ. She stepped away from empty obligations—not out of rebellion, but to sit at Jesus’ feet. Like Mary who chose the better part (Luke 10:42), she chose to be filled by the Word before pouring out again.

What This Means

The Bible shows that God cares deeply about the state of your soul. He doesn’t just call us to labor; He calls us to rest in Him (Hebrews 4:9-10). If you’ve been serving without being nourished, you are not following the Shepherd—you are following expectations.

Repositioning is not retreating. It’s returning—to Jesus, your source.

Think About This

Have you mistaken activity for obedience? Are you doing things for God while neglecting to be with God?

Where is He asking you to come aside and be refreshed?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, forgive me for working in Your name while forgetting to rest at Your feet. You are my Shepherd, and I shall not want. Lead me to the green pastures of Your Word. Help me to slow down, listen, and be nourished by You alone. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Closing Verse

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”
—Hebrews 4:9 (KJV)

Are You Receiving God’s Signal?

Opening Verse

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
—John 10:27 (KJV)

Introduction

God is always speaking, but are we listening? Just as a radio needs to be tuned to the right frequency to receive a clear signal, our hearts must be in the right condition to hear God’s voice. Many things can interfere with our connection to Him—sin, distractions, doubt, and the noise of the world. Are you receiving His signal, or is something blocking it?

Devotional Story

A man once owned a high-tech radio that could pick up signals from all over the world. He enjoyed listening to distant stations, but one day, his radio started picking up nothing but static. No matter how much he adjusted the settings, the interference remained. Frustrated, he checked the manual and realized the problem—his house was surrounded by thick walls of metal and concrete that blocked the signal.

Determined to fix it, he moved the radio near an open window, away from anything that could cause interference. Immediately, the radio began to pick up the clearest sound he had ever heard.

This is exactly how our spiritual lives work. If we are surrounded by sin, distractions, or doubt, we won’t be able to hear God. But when we remove the barriers and position our hearts correctly, His voice comes through with clarity.

What This Means

Many things can block God’s signal in our lives:

  • Sin: Willful disobedience creates static in our hearts. Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
  • Distractions: The noise of social media, entertainment, and worldly pursuits can drown out God’s voice.
  • Doubt and Fear: Lack of faith acts like a wall that keeps us from trusting in God’s direction.
  • Busyness: A life too full leaves no room for God’s whisper.

Think About This

  • Are you making time to be still and listen to God?
  • What distractions or sins might be blocking your ability to hear Him clearly?
  • Have you positioned yourself in a way that allows you to receive His voice?

Prayer

Dear Lord, I want to hear Your voice clearly. Remove anything in my life that is blocking Your signal. Break down the walls of sin, doubt, and distractions that keep me from Your presence. Help me tune my heart to Your Word and recognize when You are speaking. Let nothing stand in the way of my relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Verse

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
—Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

God’s Light

Opening Verse

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1 (KJV)

Introduction

God’s light is more than physical brightness; it is the illuminating truth, guidance, and presence that dispels darkness from our lives. In a world filled with confusion and fear, the light of God provides clarity, direction, and peace.

Devotional Story

In a small rural village, a young girl named Leah found herself overwhelmed by the darkness of her surroundings. Each night, as power outages engulfed her town, she would light a single candle to illuminate her home. Though small, the light of that candle pushed back the darkness and allowed her family to find their way.

One stormy evening, the power outage lasted longer than usual, and Leah’s father, a farmer, was caught outside in the pitch-black night. Leah ran to the door, her candle flickering in her hand. Despite the raging wind and pouring rain, her father saw the light from afar. That small flame became his guide back home.

Reflecting on the event later, Leah’s father said, “Your little light reminded me of God’s promises, how even the smallest glimpse of His light can lead us out of the darkest valleys.”

What This Means

God’s light shines through His Word, His Spirit, and His people. Like Leah’s candle, even the smallest act of faith can serve as a beacon for others lost in the dark. The Bible reminds us in John 8:12 that Jesus is the Light of the World. When we walk with Him, we will never stumble in darkness.

Darkness symbolizes fear, sin, and confusion, but God’s light represents truth, righteousness, and hope. It pierces through despair and leads us back to safety. His light in us is not only for personal comfort but also for the guidance of others who are struggling.

Think About This

  • Are you allowing God’s light to guide your steps?
  • In what ways can you be a light for someone in need today?
  • How does trusting in God’s promises help you navigate through life’s storms?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the light in my life. In moments of darkness, help me to trust in Your guidance. May Your Word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Use me to reflect Your light to others who are in need of hope and direction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Verse

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
